ORGANIZATION The Minister for Housing and Urban Development, Government of Punjab, is the Chairman of the Authority and the Secretary, Housing and Urban Development, is Vice Chairman. The Chief Administrator is the executive head and reports to the Chairman. He is responsible for the overall performance of the Authority. The Chief Administrator is an IAS Officer and Ex-officio Secretary to the Government of Punjab. The following departments exist at the headquarters *
Administration The activities of administration are headed by Addl.Chief Administrator(HQ), for financial and accounts is headed by Addl. Chief Administrator(F&A), for identification of new thrust areas for the development of New Urban Estates & core real estate products as well as identification, planning, development, marketing of OUVGL properties transferred to PUDA by the State Government is headed by Addl. Chief Administrator (Projects) and for policies and co-ordination is headed by Addl. Chief Administrator(P&C). Apart from this, the engineering portion is headed by the Chief Engineer having field officers i.e. Supdt. Engineers and Divisional Engineers at all stations. PUDA has its town and country planning wing and architectural wing headed by Senior Town Planner and Senior Architect respectively. The zonal office is the basic operation unit of PUDA. PUDA has a decentralized structure, wherein each zone operates as a 'mini-PUDA'. Each zone is headed by the Addl. Chief Administrator , who, according to the Authority's staffing norms, is an IAS Officer. Since the Authority has been mandated to operate throughout the state of Punjab, its zonal offices have been configured to ensure adequate coverage of all seventeen districts.
